Free TAFE for Early Childhood Education courses

Have you ever thought about becoming an early childhood educator?

Now is a great time to study early childhood education, with two courses now available tuition fee-free for eligible students through the Andrews Labor Government’s Free TAFE initiative – the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

Over the course of this decade, we’re rolling out Victoria’s biggest ever early childhood education reform, funded Three-Year-Old Kinder.

But to make this happen, we’re going to need more than 6,000 new early childhood teachers and educators.

For those interested in becoming an early childhood teacher, scholarships are now available to support prospective teachers through undergraduate, graduate diploma and postgraduate qualifications.

Early Childhood Aboriginal pathway scholarships of up to $34,000 are also available to eligible Aboriginal people wanting to become an early childhood teacher, educator or to upskill.

Every early childhood job has one thing in common – the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and their families.
